When Hidalgo began, we met outside weekly for Kids Club. When the nights started getting dark earlier, we were allowed to use various vacant apartments in the complex. Eventually, we were given our own apartment to use consistently for ministry: Apartment 115.
One day, some kids were given markers and paper to pass the time. One girl had the idea, “Let’s draw church!”
If you look at the drawing, several of the church buildings are labeled “115“. To the kids, where we met for Kids Club = “Church”.
Though we now meet in the apartment’s clubhouse building, the residents and manager still refer to us as “the Church”.
